Laura is a primary school teacher and former actor and director. She trained at the Liverpool
Institute of Performing Arts.
Laura has run her own theatre company, Playworks, which specialised in theatre for
children, as well as working for LiveNation’s education team on a number of national tours
including Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Starlight Express, Joseph and his Amazing
Technicoloured Dreamcoat, Annie and Jerry Springer the Opera.
Since her return to Guernsey, Laura has worked as a radio producer for BBC Guersney and as
Community Arts Development Officer for Guernsey Arts Commission before undertaking
post graduate studies at the University of Winchester.
As a writer, Laura has created several short musical plays for young people, two of which
‘Caterpillar’ and ‘Spyder’, toured nationally and were enjoyed by more than 10,000 children
and their families. Laura is currently working on a full length musical, Radio Silence, a play
exploring the impact of WW2 on the inhabitants of Guernsey.
